Card Services Fraud Alert Program

BancorpSouth now offers free Fraud Alerts for BancorpSouth issued credit and debit cards. When we detect suspicious activity on a BancorpSouth issued credit or debit card, we will send a text message alert to the accountholder’s mobile telephone number if one is on file, an email to the accountholder’s email address if one is on file or an automated call will be placed to the home telephone number on the account if it is a land line. After receiving the alert, you can confirm that you initiated the transaction or report the transaction as fraudulent. BancorpSouth’s Fraud Alert messaging program is one way that we can assist our customers in preventing fraud. You can also assist in preventing fraud by doing the following:

  • Review your account information — Log into your account on a weekly basis and review your account information. If you notice any changes to your account that you didn't make, contact us immediately at (888) 797-7711.
  • Reassess who has account access — Review on a regular basis authorized users, if any, with access to your account to ensure such users are current.
  • Look over your transactions — Review your bank and credit card statements regularly to make sure these only reflect transactions you have made. If you see a transaction that you did not authorize, call us immediately at (888) 797-7711.
  • Check your credit report regularly — Make sure all the accounts listed are ones you've created, so you can minimize the damage to your credit score. For a copy of your credit report, contact one of the three major credit reporting agencies.

You may opt out of Fraud Alert text messaging at any time by texting STOP to 91966. By sending STOP to 91966, you agree to one additional confirmation message stating that you’ve opted out and will no longer receive Fraud Alert messages from BancorpSouth. You may get additional support or help by calling (888) 797-7711 or texting HELP to (888) 797-7711. If you have opted out of Fraud Alerts but would like to resume receiving Fraud Alerts, contact us at 91966.

Carriers are not responsible for any delayed or undelivered messages. Messages may be delayed or not delivered due to factors outside of the carrier’s control.
